BS Agribusiness

I’m Anj Octia, a recent graduate of Real LIFE. Growing up, our family didn’t prepare anything on the table for Christmas because we had no money for it.

If our neighbors handed us anything to eat, that’s all we had to share amongst us. We also didn’t give gifts to each other because we couldn’t afford anything. If others wore their Sunday best, our old worn out clothes, washed and cleaned was what we wore. At best, our mom would buy us something new to wear from the public market.

Now that I am working, we are able to celebrate Christmas with food on the table like ham, spaghetti, fried chicken, and salad. Today, we are blessed to share what we have with our neighbors.

I am now able to buy Christmas presents for each one in my family. It feels so good to be able to bless even the kids who come around caroling.

This is why I am so thankful to God and to the Real LIFE Foundation for helping me finish my education. Now that I am working, I have become God’s channel of blessing to my family and neighbors. The noche buena feast we used to see on our neighbors’ dining table and we could only dream to have, today, we also get to enjoy as a family.
