I’m Jermaine, a Real LIFE alumna from batch 2017.  Growing up, my life had no direction and my heart was full of bitterness. I felt alone and rejected because I was given up for adoption.  I always felt there was something missing in my life until I became a Real Life scholar and encountered Christ.

With my new found relationship with God, He brought healing to my heart and restoration to my soul.  My life now had direction and I found my purpose. Since then, I have been serving in church as a volunteer and leader.

I held on to God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11 that His plans for me included a good future. And all my fears of what may be were silenced as I declared Psalm 56:3, “But even when I am afraid, I keep on trusting you.”

After I graduated, that’s when I experienced even more of God’s restoring power in my life.  He restored my relationship with my adoptive family. Now, celebrating Christmas as a family has more meaning for me.  And through one wedding event this year, God restored my biological family. I never dreamed it was ever going to happen, but God made it happen.

I thank God for letting me experience those challenges and victories.  I thank God for Real LIFE for helping me not just with my education but for also molding my character and helping me through those challenging times.
