Introduction

Real LIFE Foundation values and respects your right to privacy. We are committed to following general principles and rules of data privacy protection in the Philippines. This policy is in compliance with Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations.

This policy covers the collection, use, access, sharing, retention, and disposal of your information. As you decide how to share your personal information with us and others, we will faithfully steward this information and treat it with utmost respect and confidentiality and we encourage you to also take the necessary precautions to protect your own privacy.

What Type of Information We Collect

In the course of communicating with you, we may collect information, understanding that much of it is considered personal and sensitive.

None of the following information we collect is automatically gathered at our events, or from any of our channels, including our social media accounts, and website. We collect contact details, such as the following, only when necessary for the scholarship application and program, events, donations or partnering process, etc. and you knowingly and voluntarily submit them to us.

A. Personal Information

  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Contact Number

B. Scholarship Application or Program
As we process and grant applications for scholarships provided by the Real LIFE Foundation, the following information is gathered from students and their families:

  • Contact details (name and birthday, parent/guardian’s name, phone numbers, mobile number, home address, and e-mail address)
  • Educational Information (school and campus information, course or year level, grades, among others)
  • Family History
  • Household income
  • Health Information
  • Uploaded documents and supporting files
  • Digital photographs for documentation purposes

C. Donor or Partner Information

  • Contact details (name, phone number, email address)
  • Donation records include details of contributions
  • Billing or transaction details cover information necessary to process payments securely and accurately
  • Organization or company information is collected when donations are made on behalf of a group or entity
  • Communication preferences to receive updates and acknowledgements

D. Technical and Usage Data

  • Cookies and analytics data
Where We Get this Information

We collect information only when you knowingly and voluntarily submit them to us. In general, we collect this information through:

  • Online application forms
  • Donation forms or platforms
  • Direct communication via email, messaging, or phone
  • Website interaction, including cookies and analytics

We may use cookies and other available technology to remember your preferences and customized settings and facilitate access to our channels. Information from cookies is not personally identifiable.

Why We Get this Information

We process your personal data for the following legitimate purposes:

A. Scholarship Application and Program

  • Verifying eligibility and qualifications of applicants
  • Processing applications for scholarships and financial assistance
  • Providing coaching and mentoring for Real LIFE scholars
  • Managing and facilitating Real LIFE events and activities

B. Communication

  • Sending updates, announcements, invitations, and feedback requests
  • Responding to inquiries, concerns, or requests for assistance

C. Donor and Partner Management

Real LIFE Foundation works in coordination with Every Nation Philippines’ Partner Development Team for fundraising efforts and donor management.

  • Processing donations and proceeds from fund raising activities (including organized by Victory Local Centers)
  • Issuing acknowledgements and official receipts
  • Providing donors with updates on program impact and foundation’s initiatives

We will process your personal data only for purposes you have been informed of and have consented to, unless allowed or required by law.

Who We Share Your Information With

We have set in place reasonable and appropriate processes and technologies to safeguard your personal information. We do not disclose or share your personal information without your permission, except when required by law or the appropriate government agencies. We do not rent, sell, or exchange your information.

We may share your personal information with authorized personnel and third-party service providers, but only the information needed for them to deliver specific objectives or facilitate specific processes. These personnel and providers include:

Authorized personnel, including but not limited to pastors, staff, and volunteers, so that they may meet your

  • scholarship-related needs, provide guidance and mentorship, process applications and financial assistance requests, manage donations and fundraising activities (including the ones organized by Victory Local Centers), and coordinate activities such as orientations and other programs related to Real LIFE’s initiatives.

Third-party service providers to whom we outsource key aspects of our ministry, e.g., our service providers for:

  • Payment gateway and information technology systems;
  • Health service providers (for scholars)
  • Government agencies, if we have a good-faith belief that sharing this information is necessary to detect, prevent, or otherwise address any legal issues under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

All staff and third-party service providers are held to strict confidentiality obligations consistent with what is required by law, and will be held accountable if they fail to meet these obligations.

How We Protect Your Information

We have set up reasonable and appropriate organizational, physical, and technical safeguards for your personal information, protecting it from loss, misuse, or unauthorized processing.

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary:

  • To fulfill the purpose for which it was collected
  • To comply with legal or regulatory requirements
  • For documentation and auditing, when applicable

We will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information if it is no longer needed for any purpose.

Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to be informed. You have the right to know if your personal data is being collected, processed or stored.
  • Right to access. You may request confirmation whether or not your personal data is processed, and obtain a copy of your personal data and related processing information.
  • Right to rectification (correction). You may request correction or update of your personal data if it is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated.
  • Right to erasure or blocking. You may request that your personal data be erased, blocked, suppressed, or destroyed when it is no longer necessary for the purpose collected, or where its processing is unlawful.
  • Right to object. You may object to the processing of your personal data, especially if the processing is based on consent or legitimate interest.
  • Right to data portability. You may request a copy of your personal data.

You may seek compensation if you suffer damage due to inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of your personal data or violation of your rights under the Data Privacy Act.

If you believe that your personal data has been misused or your rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with the NPC.
